How does "scoring" work?

The scoring system depends on the Sweepzy event and how the organiser customises it. It can be found on the "entries"/"draw" tab under "scoring".
In general, scoring is a combined total of all player's pots scores.
Each prize calculates a new scoreboard for that prize.
The scores are updated regularly to maximise engagement and fun during the event.

Choosing "player picks" vs "player draw" game-type?

Player picks is suitable for both large (fundraising) and small (office) groups with any number of entries.
Skill is a factor in this game-type as players choose their own picks from each pot.
The number of pots depends on the sport and the organiser's customisation.
The latest odds are used so each pot contains the relevant seeded players.
Example: 7 pots - 72 possible selections - Pot 1 contains seeds 1-10 etc..

Player draw is only suitable for small (office) groups (30 players).
In this game-type, a selection can only be assigned once. So 2 players could not be drawn Scottie Scheffler.
There is no skill required by players in this game-type as the draw randomly assigns selections.
The draw is strategic using the latest odds so each pot contains the relevant seeded players.
Example: 20 players - 102 possible selections - 5 drawn pots - Pot 1 contains seeds 1-10 etc.

What happens if a player withdraws?

If a player withdraws before the event starts, you will be able to see these listed under "changes".
In the player picks game-type you will be randomly assigned another selection from that same pot.
The player will be removed from that pot and the replacement player (if any) will take their place as a possible selection.

In the player draw game-type, the player will receive the next best seeded unassigned player as the replacement.

Will there be "live" updates during the event?

Yes the scoring and leaderboard standings for each prize will be regularly updated so you can track your picks live during the event.

How do "prizes" work?

For each event, the organiser defines the prizes and prize winnings.
Overall prizes: These are prizes for coming 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc in the main scoring event (i.e. golf event - combined lowest score to par).
Engagement prizes: These are prizes for fun events like (most birdies, most bogeys etc). The options depend on the sport and is also combined scoring.

Prizes can be an amount or description. Examples: 1-year club membership, Food voucher, bottle of wine etc.

Why can a player not join event.

The event is closed to new players if the organiser has locked the event, you should contact the organiser if this should not be the case.

How does "payment" work?

Sweepzy charges a software licence fee that enables users and groups to run their fundraising or engagement event.
Any payments relating to player entry or prize winnings are collected and distributed by the event organisers and it is their sole responsibility.
