Frequently asked questions

What does "seeded draw" exactly mean?

Let's say for example you have 10 players in your sweepstakes event for the US Masters, when you have seeded draw turned on, the draw will ensure that each player receives one of the top 10 seeds in pot 1. Each player receives a seeded player 11-20 at random in pot 2 etc.
When you have seeded draw turned off, a player could be drawn any player in any pot regardless of seed. In our example of the US Masters, it means a player could receive both Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.

What does "equal draw" exactly mean?

Taking the US Masters as our example, the field may have ~92 players. If your sweepzy event has 10 players entered then when equal draw is turned on, each player receives 9 players. The highest 2 seeds (least likely to win) will be omitted. In the unlikely event one of those players won a prize, it would go to the next player. When equal draw is turned off, in our example 2 players would receive 10 selections while the other 8 would receive 9.

How do "prizes" work?

Prizes can be added by the organiser of the sweepzy event in the prize admin ("Prizes" -> "Prize Admin"). You can set either a monetary prize or a descriptive prize (i.e. "bottle of wine") for each prize. In our example of the US Masters sweepstakes, you can create prizes for outcomes such as "most birdies by a player in the event", "lowest round of the week" or even "most bogeys of the week". This helps ensure everyone has an outcome to route for. If you have any prize suggestions you would like to see added, please contact us and we will do our best to add it.

Will there be "live" updates during the event?

Yes the "Live Results" tab will display the person who is currently on to win the prize. The results will be updated regularly. You will also be able to track your own players in the "leaderboard" tab during the event.

Why can a player not join the event.

Your sweepzy event will be closed to any new players once the draw has been created. If you want to add more players you must delete and re-create the draw.

How does "payment" work?

Sweepzy provides a payment tracker for the organiser to keep track of who has paid. Sweepzy provides a SaaS for groups and orgs to create and manage a sweepstakes. Any payments relating to participation or results are not the responsibility of Sweepzy.
